Horror Movie Review For Fantasy Island

 When I was a small child I used to watch Fantasy Island a lot. I thought it was great and magical how people would get their  fantasies. Then I heard they were making a horror movie out of it. Horror? Fantasy Island was a feel good show from the 80s. The fact they were changing it to a horror movie was intriguing. One, because I love horror, and two, Mr. Roarke and Tattoo always had a creepy quality to them anyway. 

The movie starts out very much like the show. Guests arrive on a plane to get their fantasies Fulfilled by Mr. Roarke. Well, actually, it starts with a random woman being kidnapped. Then the guest's fantasies start with little hints something sinister in the background. I won't say anymore because I don't want to spoil it. 

Is it worth seeing this movie? Maybe once. If you were a fantasy Island fan, yes. It had some clever parts and was better than I was expecting. Actually, I thought it would be terrible, but it wasn't terrible. It wasn't scary either, at least not to me. I would say it is more like a mystery or twilight Zone episode. So don't expect to be scared if you are an avid horror fan.  

It has some inside stuff from he show so if you have never seen the show, some things might not make since. Give it a try.
